I have been working with Dr. Brent McBride, Dr. “Amy Santos, and Dr. Laurie Jeans to develop a needs assessment of early intervention professionals to assess father involvement in these services. Thus far, this has led to a poster, Identifying the Training Needs of Early Intervention Personnel: Family Focused Programming Includes Fathers at the Conference on Research Innovation in Early Intervention (CRIEI) in the Spring of 2014. Part of my role on the team was to lead the development of the needs assessment instrument and analyze the results. We currently are working on a revise and resubmit for the Journal of Early Intervention.
In addition to this project, we worked on a poster for the same conference about the determinants of men’s parenting behaviors in families of children with disabilities and a paper about father involvement and maternal depressive symptoms in families of children with disabilities or delays.
